EMT Graphite Headshell
We are pleased to introduce the Audiosilente graphite headshell for EMT tonearms.
Graphite being an isotropic material represents the ultimate expression for making a headshell.
Cnc machined from isostatic graphite sourced from Japan, the shell thickness is about 4.9 mm. The back wall while being 5 mm has a depression made of aluminum that allows it to have a back thickness of only 3 mm.
The arm connector will fit into the cartridge holder connector by 2 mm.
The shell comes in the configurations described below.
1. Graphite headshell with gold-plated brass connector and gold-plated brass finger lift = weight 13.5 g approx.
2. Graphite headshell with black anodized aluminum connector and black painted steel finger lift = weight of 11.5 g approx.
Please indicate the weight of the headshell at the time of purchase
This allows you to choose the weight according to your needs.
With this type of shell you can mount all cartridges that meet the mounting distance required by EMT, such as the Denon DL 103.
The mounting limit does not depend on the headshell but on the construction of the cartridge.
Each shell is made by cnc milling machine from a block of isostatic HDG high-density graphite.
The process of making eia connectors involves the following:
1 making of the connectors
2 assembly of the inner part made of Delrin.
3 milling for mounting the key made of laser-cut stainless steel
4 assembly and fixing of the key
5 milling of the stainless steel key and connector to allocate a 0.5 mm x 2.5 mm pin that will permanently lock the stainless steel key. The pin being mounted on the plane that touches the headshell is totally invisible.
6 assembly of each individual connector on CNC for drilling holes
7 assembly of the 4 brass pins with double gold plating
8 polishing of the key
9 testing of each individual finished connector on 2 EMT arms
Procedures 4 - 5 - 8 are made under a microscope.
The headshell wire sets are made using phosphor bronze clips molded to our specs and OFC silver-plated copper wires with soft silicone coating. The clips on the cartridge side are bent at 90° while on the connector side they are shorter in size. All this is done to reduce mounting spaces and facilitate head assembly.
The entire soldering process of the wire sets is carried out under a microscope only so you can be sure that the soldering is done to perfection.
The headshell has an aluminum collar inside with a threaded top hole with supplied grub screw and allen wrench for azimuth adjustment.
Each individual headshell is polished by hand in several rounds until perfection is achieved.
A complete headshell takes about 8 hours of work.

We are pleased to announce our product catalogue expands with the introduction of the new cnc machined EMT aluminum shell for all cartridges, including the Denon DL 103. The Denon DL 103 has always been tampered with due to the small hosting space. The Audiosilente EMT shell prevents this through our own 90 degree angle design pin connectors and keeps the distance of the diamond effectively unaltered (the estimated offset is between 0,1 and 0,3 millimeters). More features are: - inox steel key element inserted into the rear portion of the body, just like the original - azimuth adjustment - weight of 12.5 grams (2 grams heavier than the original).
